Online Notepad
A clean, ruled writing pad that saves as you type. Free, no account, and nothing you make here is uploaded anywhere.
What it does
- Real ruled paper lines, with a margin rule
- Autosaves as you type, straight to your browser
- Live word, character and reading-time count
- Export to .txt or Markdown
- Focus mode, and a dark theme that follows your system
- Works offline once the page has loaded
How to use it
Start typing
There is no blank-document dialog and nothing to name. The pad is ready when the page is.
It saves itself
Every keystroke is written to your browser a moment later. Close the tab and come back — the note is still there.
Export when you need it elsewhere
Download as plain text or Markdown. Both are just your words, with no formatting to strip out later.
Questions
- Is anything I write uploaded?
- No. The note is stored by your own browser using local storage, and there is no request that sends it anywhere. You can watch the network tab to confirm it.
- Will my note survive closing the browser?
- Yes, on the same browser and the same device. Clearing site data, using a private window, or switching to another machine will not carry it over — that is what an account is for.
- Is there a length limit?
- Only what your browser allows for local storage, which is several megabytes — far more text than anyone writes in one note.
- Does it work offline?
- Once the page has loaded, yes. Typing, saving and exporting all happen on your device.
- Why the ruled lines?
- The same reason paper has them: they give the eye a rhythm and make long passages easier to scan. The text is locked to the ruling, so it sits on the lines rather than drifting between them.
This is the small half of what Learn Live Now does
The rest is running the session itself — registration, reminders, live chat and Q&A, an assistant trained on your own material, and follow-up that goes out on its own.
