How to use it
Pick a tool
Pen, rectangle, ellipse, arrow, line, text or sticky note. The number keys 1 to 8 switch between them without leaving the canvas, and 0 picks the eraser — scroll to set how much of the board its circle covers.
Draw anywhere
The canvas has no edges. Scroll to pan in any direction, or hold space and drag. Ctrl or Cmd and scroll — or a trackpad pinch — zooms, keeping the point under your cursor in place.
Rearrange
Switch to select, then drag anything to move it. Drag a box across empty space to catch several at once and move, restyle or delete them together. Undo goes back fifty steps.
Export
Download the board as a PNG at twice the size, so it stays sharp when you drop it into a document or a slide.
Questions
- Do I need an account?
- No. The board is saved by your browser as you draw, and it is there when you come back on the same device.
- Is my board uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything is drawn and stored on your device. Nothing about the board reaches a server.
- How is this different from Excalidraw?
- The core idea is the same — an infinite canvas you can sketch on quickly. This one is built into a platform for running sessions, so a board can eventually be presented live during a webinar rather than screen-shared from another tab. Excalidraw is the more mature standalone drawing tool, and it is excellent; this is the version that comes with the rest of the workflow.
- Can I collaborate with someone in real time?
- Not yet. Boards are single-player today. Live shared boards are the natural next step, and they need an account so there is something to share.
- Can I export to SVG?
- PNG today. SVG export is coming, and it is the format worth waiting for if you intend to edit the result elsewhere.
- Does it work on a tablet?
- Yes. Drawing uses pointer events, so a stylus or a finger works the same as a mouse, and the canvas will not scroll the page underneath you.
